Castlegory is 13km (16 mins) back towards Tralee from Mount Brandon Hostel. The small town has a SPAR supermarket, post office, pharmacy and Maunsells Service Station (24 hour) garage.  There two public houses. Maurice Fitzgerald and Bolands.  There are a few places to eat, mainly open in the summer season. The Milesian, Pisces Restaurant and Forge Wood Fire Pizza

The Maharees is a 5 km long tombolo located on the north side of Castlegregory. There are two public houses,  Spillane’s Bar and Restaurant and The Green Room Bar. If you like water sports and surfing, then check out James Knox Watersports & Surf shop. If diving is your thing ! Then visit Waterworld Dive Centre, for all your diving needs. There is a 24 hour garage in the village.
